New HCM City mayor vows to maintain high economic growth

City will focus on solving difficulties in zoning, site clearance and
resettlement, boosting administrative reform and attracting all investment
resources to ensure high and sustainable economic growth, said the newly elected
chairman of the municipal People�s Committee.
Hoang Quan told reporters at the closing session of the HCM City People�s
Council�s seventh meeting yesterday that he expected the city would achieve an
annual economic growth rate of 12% this year.

Speaking at the meeting, HCM City Party chief and former chairman Le Thanh Hai
said in his new post, he would increase cooperation and share responsibilities
with the municipal People�s Council and People�s Committee for the city�s
urged the city leaders to boost economic structuring and administrative reform,
and better cooperate with central and local State agencies to deal with
difficulties to better serve businesses and people.
City will continue the economic restructuring program by encouraging investment
in trade promotion and assistance for businesses during the international
integration process, Hai said.
