HCM City to build seven more IPs

 

HCM City will develop seven new industrial parks (IP), raising the city�s total area for IPs to 7,042 ha, according to an adjusted plan on IP development through 2020 and directions to 2025 approved recently by the municipal government.

 

The new IPs will have a total area of 1,422 ha. They are the 200-ha Vinh Loc III in Binh Chanh District for clean technology and chemical sectors; the 338-ha East-South in Cu Chi District for projects of light, non-polluting, mechanical engineering and major industries; the 162-ha Phu Huu in District 9 targeting warehouses, goods transport and maritime service projects; the 200-ha Phuoc Hiep in Cu Chi for the pharmaceutical chemistry sector; the 300-ha Xuan Thoi Thuong in Hoc Mon District for light industries and food processing projects; the 175-ha Bau Dung in Cu Chi for agricultural mechanical and major industries and the 150-ha Binh Khanh Shipyard in Can Gio District.

 

Also in the plan, the city agreed to expand or change the functions of numerous existing IPs to create favorable conditions for its programs of moving inner-city ports to the outskirts and polluting factories into IPs, and attract capital resources for industrial development.
