City lends rural households to build biogas cellars and toilets
Between now and 2010, HCM City will lend some VND200 billion
through the citys Social Policy Bank for rural households to build biogas
cellars and hygienic toilets in order to reduce environmental pollution.
The program is applicable for households in the outlying
districts of Nha Be, Can Gio, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon and Cu Chi, and farmers in
districts 2, 7, 9, Thu Duc and Binh Tan.
HCM City targets to build an additional 11,148 biogas cellars
with a total cost of VND267 billion and raise the ratio of households having
hygienic toilets to 80% by 2010, according to a rural hygienic and environmental
program approved recently by the city government.
