Ba Chuong church, a unique architectural work

Ba Chuong Church is located on Le Van Sy Street, Phu Nhuan District, HCM City. It is also called Da Minh Saint Church and is an age-old architectural works. It is named Ba Chuong (three bells) because on the top of church are three bells. It was re-built in the beginning of the 21st century.

Its design is a unique combination of oriental and western architecture with light and flexible lines, and an extremely high three-door temple gate. The corners of the roof have tortuous dragon statues.

Ba Chuong is colored blue both outside and inside smooth and shiny blue large rocks glued to it. The inside of the cathedral has a high roof arch to create airy space. In the center is a large circular space with with stained glass.

The Da Minh cathedral has a square structure to symbolize the land and a circlular roof frame to represent the sky. Of special interest are three large pottery pictures in the center of the cathedral which give its main idea.

The Da Minh cathedral was built on architectural foundations of both Vietnamese fine arts and modern lines. It is a very original art work in HCM city.
