Fireworks display and street exhibition to mark April 30

Fireworks will be displayed in HCM City to mark the 30th anniversary of South Vietnam Liberation and national reunification.

Fireworks will be displayed in HCM City to mark the 30th anniversary of South Vietnam Liberation and national reunification. Ho Chi Minh Museum in District 4, HCM City War Martyrs Cemetery in District 9, Vinh Loc Industrial Park in Binh Chanh District and Ben Duoc War Memorial in Cu Chi District are four locations for the display, which will last 15 minutes, from 10 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. on April 29.

As part of the celebration activities, a street exhibition named Saigon Beauty will be held from April 28. Each area in HCM City will show different views about Saigon-HCM City. In the area of Dong Khoi, Nguyen Du and Ly Tu Trong streets, photos of Southern villages taken from late 19th century to early 20th century will be displayed. Next to this are a collection of 30 photos showing the victory of April 30, 1975 and 30 years of construction and development of HCM City. Prize winning photos of HCM City will also be displayed in the area.

In the area of Dong Khoi Street and Chi Lang Park, a collection of photos selected from the second photo contest �the Beauty of Saigon-HCM City in 2005� will be showed. They are 90 photos featuring HCM City people, projects, cultural heritage and so on. In particular, in the Chi Lang Park, there will be 20 pairs of large photos (1.2m x 2.4m in size) showing Saigon in the past and the present presented by the French Consulate General, Air France and Idecaf.
