HCM City maps out agricultural development plan for
HCM City People�s Committee has mapped out the development plan for the
agricultural sector in the 2006-2010 period, in which the city will develop a
rural and agricultural sector in combination with the typical features of a
large urban area.
city will continue changing the economic structure of agriculture and fisheries,
and develop effective production models such as farms and family businesses.
Farm produce will be diversified and brand and quality building will be improved
to meet the demand of large orders.
zoning and management of agricultural land in the city will be made more
reasonable. Infrastructure will be further developed to create favorable
conditions for crop restructuring while the agricultural and rural
industrialization and modernization process will be stepped up.
Trade promotion of farm produce and credit activities for the rural area will be
expanded. The connection of farm production with industry, service and
consumption will be formed in rural areas, and traditional occupation villages,
especially those targeting tourism and export, will be set up.
More supportive and preferential policies will be issued to encourage
individuals and organizations to implement the biotechnological, hi-quality
seeding plants and key agro product development programs.
