HCMC to remove difficulties for credit organizations

On April 12, The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) coordinated with HCMC People’s Committee to organize a conference on removing difficulties for credit organization. Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong and Deputy Chairman Tran Vinh Tuyen attended.

At the conference, some credit organizations have presented some difficulties and barriers related to credit activities, payment, opening of direct investment accounts, dealing with asset handling to ensure recovery of debt at credit institutions.

Some proposed that the city should be more active in accepting non-cash methods of payment to create favorable conditions for credit organizations to develop related activities. Others proposed the city to remove difficulties related to judgment execution and asset handling, creating favorable conditions for credit institutions to deal with bad debts, reducing stipulated time of returning transaction dossiers down to 1 day.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated the role of banking sector to the city’s economic growth. He emphasized the city is always active in supporting credit institutions to maintain effective operation, saying the city committed to quickly deal with these proposals.

Mr. Phong suggested SBV – HCMC branch and credit institutions to kick off and pioneer in building “4 zero bank” to best deal with globally financial changes.

In the other hand, SBV – HCMC branch, credit institutions need to coordinate with SBV to synchronously implement solutions to step up anti-dollarization drive, improving quality of banking services, promoting non-cash payment methods, renewing mechanisms of arranging State’s investment credits to ensure equal and transparent approach regardless of economic components.
