While all of HCM City celebrates

Christmas and New Year's in streets overflowing with motorbikes and Santa-clad children, you could be surrounded by sparkling blue waters, close friends and family and amazing seafood at the Saigon-Phu Quoc Resort.

The resort is located on the largest island in Vietnam, whose size is comparable to Singapore. The island's 99 mountains and hills are settled among around 600 square kilometers of lush land and white sandy beaches.

Relatively undiscovered by tourists, the isolated island has the potential to become a premier eco-tourism destination. In lieu of this, Saigon-Phu Quoc's new green tours make it a pioneer in the island's burgeoning eco-tourism industry.

There are many packages to choose from: one-day desert island tour, sea fishing, bicycle tour, hiking and the honeymoon in nature tour.

The two-day, one-night sea fishing tour will take tourists to Bai Sao Beach, the island's most beautiful sandy strip, before heading to An Thoi wharf, where guests will be able to pull up nets full of fish.

In the afternoon, tourists will get to catch their own dinners at Ngang Islet. Their freshly-caught fish and squid will then be grilled while they enjoy the boat's gentle rocking and the idyllic sunset. The tour's cost is VND1.1 million per person.

The one-day desert island tours allow visitors to explore different areas of Phu Quoc, most notably the northern part, where lies one of the last remaining lowland rainforests.

Guests will depart at 8:00 a.m. by boat towards Doi Moi Islet, where they will participate in team activities such as tent-pitching, starting a fire, and catching crabs and snails. The day will end with a seafood barbeque on the beach, included in the US$49 tour price.
For the complete experience, guests can also purchase a tour to the southern part of the island to see the gorgeous Bai Sao Beach for US$59.

Given that the end of the year is also wedding season, Saigon-Phu Quoc created a package especially for newlyweds that includes excursions to Bai Tien Beach, Nam Ninh fishing village and Gia Long well.

What could be more romantic than horseback riding, snorkeling, exploring colorful coral and having a gourmet dinner aboard a yacht.
Couples can fulfill their deserted island fantasies at just VND5.39 per couple.

Finally, for those who want a glimpse of Phu Quoc beneath a blanket of stars, the resort is offering the "Gala dinner aboard a yacht" program from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m.

For VND95,000, tourists will sail into the sea for a full view of the resort aboard a yacht, where seafood and cocktails can be followed by dancing under the moonlight.
