World renowned hip-hopper performs in Vietnam
Legendary hip hopper German Niels �Storm� Robitsky
and his French and Vietnamese colleagues are set to perform their tour called
�Vehicles� in Vietnam from January 9-12.
Under the biggest-ever tour of its kind in Vietnam, 38-year-old Robitsky, French
hip hopper Sebastien Ramirez and Vietnamese group Big Toe will dance out
Vietnamese traffic chaos.
Organized by French Cultural Centre L�Espace and the Goethe Cultural Institute
of Germany, the event will take place at Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi on
Jan. 9 and 10.
The artists will then rock the stages of central city Danang�s Trung Vuong
Theatre on January 11, and on January 12 at the European Chamber of Commerce
Office in HCM City, 257 Hoang Van Thu Street, Tan Binh District.
�Storm� started dancing as a young boy, but seriously caught on to the dance
moves of Bboying, Popping and Locking at the age of 14.
In 2000, he created a Solo named "Solo for two", which has been shown in more
than 40 countries and 160 cities.
He also directed and choreographed parts of the opening ceremonies of the World
Expo 2000 and the World Cup 2006.
In 2004, �Storm� designed "The art of urban dance" and together with performing
dancers in Europe he has also been touring around the world with great support
from the Goethe Institute in the Middle- East and Asia.
His latest Solo "Virtue elevation" which premiered in January 2006 in France�s
city Suresnes is on its way to gaining the same popularity as "Solo for two".
