HCM City Conservatory schedules in January

 

The HCM City Conservatory (112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1) has announced its music schedule for the first month of the New Year.

 

Vietnamese-Australian guitarist Le Hoang Minh has been invited by the conservatory for perform in a classical music program called Le Hoang Minh and friends. The show will take place at 8 p.m. on January 13.

 

Famous guitarists of HCM City such as Nguyen Thanh Huy, Duong Kiem Dung, Tran Hoai Phuong and Huynh Ba Tho will also join in the program.

 

On January 19, the young Viet�namese-Australian pianist Van Anh will present an evening of chamber music. She will treat the audience to the sounds of Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven and Mendelssohn, accompanied by teachers from the strings depart�ment of the conservatory.

 

The two programs are jointly organized by the Austra�lian Consulate General in HCM City and the HCM City Conservatory with the aim of encouraging young Vietnamese-Australian musicians to come back to Vietnam to perform for local audiences. Tickets cost VND80,000 and VND100.000 each.

 

On January 25 is a jazz music exchange between the American artist Denise Mini�fied and the band of well known saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan.

 

The performance takes place at the conservatory at 10 a.m. Students or jazz music lovers are invited to the program, which requires no tickets.
