Photo exhibition on Paris opens in HCM City
A photo exhibition on Paris
opened today (March 2) in HCM City to introduce art lovers to the beauty of
France's capital and to a photographic history of the country.
Presented by the French
Consulate General in HCM City, the exhibition is part of a program of culture
promotion and exchange between the two countries.
According to curator Anne
Cartier Bresson, the exhibition shows the city's grandeur as a modern
cosmopolitan city as well as its uniqueness as a European city of a gentler era.
Around 82 black and white
photographs, taken over seven decades from the 1920s to the 1990s by 40
photographers, were selected from the Paris Historical Museum, Carnavalet
Museum, Contemporary Fine Arts Museum, Contemporary Fine Arts Fund of Paris and
European House and will go on display on March 11.
Through the photo show, viewers
can learn more about the history and development of Paris, as well as gain an
understanding of the art of French photography which has grown prosperously in
the twentieth century.
The photo exhibition is at the
HCM City Fine Arts Museum, 97A Pho Duc Chinh District 1. Admission is free.
