American jazz quartet tours
Vietnam in March
American jazz quartet Adam Klipple and Drive-By Leslie will perform at a
public concert at the HCM City Conservatory in the evening of March 16 as part
of their Vietnam tour.
Later, they will perform in the
central coastal city Nha Trang on March 19, the northern Quang Ninh Province on
March 21 and Hanoi on March 22-23.
The band will also conduct
workshops on the history of jazz at the HCM City Conservatory and Nha Trang
College of Culture, Arts, and Tourism. Joining the band in their workshops and
performances is the talented Vietnamese saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan.
The band�s trip to Vietnam is
part of an Asia tour organized by the U.S. Department of State and the
internationally renowned jazz Lincoln Center.

Drive-By Leslie is �groove-influenced,� as they have developed a sound that
transcends genres. The band skillfully fuses funk, world music allusions,
dissonant harmonies, and jazzy improvisations in a way that is both expansive
and accessible and also explores many styles of electric jazz.
